Osman is excited and proud to be meeting his father after all these years and is led to a secluded spot where he sees his father sitting with his back to him. He calls his father but receives no response.
As Osman approaches, he is stabbed in the chest by a man dressed and resembling Ertugrul. Osman now can see that he has been lured into a trap.
Osman’s attackers cannot hold him for very long. He fights his way out of the situation and escapes with a serious wound on his shoulder. He runs towards the horses and Goktug.
Goktug, who is waiting for Osman, is also attacked, but Goktug is a powerful man and slaughters his enemy. Osman and Goktug cannot recognize any of their attackers, but Osman swears he will find out.
Goktug places the injured Osman on his horse, but there is no time for him to escape as well. He remains behind to fight off the men and to give Osman time to escape. They overpower him, and the last he sees of Osman is the attackers chasing him through the forest.
Back at the Kayi Village, Ertugrul is suspicious of Dundar Bey’s wife, Hazal. He believes that she has something to do with Osman’s disappearance and could be working with her brother against the Kais. Ertugrul has her arrested and placed in jail until his son comes home. He asks Bala to try and find out what she knows.
Dundar Bey, on the other hand, knows that Ertugrul will punish him for betraying his people and not supporting Osman as he should. He has a meeting with Ertugrul and asks for forgiveness, but Ertugrul punishes him and sends him into exile in Sogut. He is not allowed to return to the Kayi nomad.
Whilst Osman is trying to escape his captors, Aya Nickola is having a conversation with the bust of Caesar. He tells Caesar that he is the new Tekfur of Inego Castle, and he is very excited about his new position. He even introduces Flatius to Caesar. It is clear they both have psychopathic tendencies, and Aya Nickola is paranoid over Julius Caesar.
The drums in the Kayi village herald visitors to the nomad. The visitors are Aya Nickola and Flatius. They look every bit a formidable enemy for the Kais. They enter Ertugrul’s tent and stand looking down at an older man sitting on the tribal throne. They believed they would be presented to Osman and are surprised to see the legendary Ertugrul greeting them.
Aya Nickola brings Ertugrul a chest of gold as a peace offering from the Emperor of Constantinople. Ertugrul does not accept his gold. It is hard for Flatius to hold back his hatred for Ertugrul as Ertugrul was responsible for killing his father. Aya Nickola promises Flatius that when he is finished dealing with the Kayi’s, his father’s blood will be avenged.
The news that there is a plague of rats in the market is brought to Dundar Bey’s ears. It can be seen that the rats are dying and may carry a plague.
Meanwhile, the injured Osman has traveled far on horseback with his captors in pursuit. He has become weakened by his wound and bleeding profusely. He cannot hang on much longer. He now lies on the ground, unconscious.
